Lose Weight Fast and Safe – How it Started

Hi, this is Steve and I wanted to let you know a little bit about why I needed to lose weight fast and safe.

If you read my About page, you know that I was forced to retire, due to an accumulation of work related injuries.  I won’t go into the details of them here, but you can learn a bit more Here.  In this article, I want to discuss how I became overweight.

Basically, I am not quite a cripple, but pretty close.  I usually need a cane to walk more than a few feet.  I cannot stand in one place for longer than a couple of minutes.  Before my injuries and subsequent retirement, I used to get quite a bit of exercise – both from work and outside of work.  I was an amateur body builder for a few years and an avid martial artist.  Obviously, I am none of that now.

I continued to work for a while after my injuries, until they became so bad that I could not do it any longer.  As I began to get less and less exercise, I began to have more and more trouble with my weight.  Other than starve myself, I just could not figure out a way to stop gaining weight.

Something else about me: I love to eat.  I am a very picky eater, but I truly enjoy eating.  My previous lifestyle had my eating a lot of protein rich (and pretty high fat) foods.  I ate a lot of fast food, as well, as my busy lifestyle left little time to cook.  This was never a problem before, because I was always getting exercise – either at work, at the gym, or in the ring.  I actually needed to eat a lot to keep up with all the exercise.

What do you think happened when I started getting less and less exercise?  Yep, the pounds started piling on!  It happened gradually too.  For a while, I was still working, but I had to stop the martial arts.  The weight training was the next to go.  As time went by, I was able to do less and less at work, until it got to the point where I had a helper with me that did most of the work.  Finally, I had to quit working entirely.

This whole process spanned about a year and a half, or so.  I was getting less and less exercise, until I got to a point where I could get almost no exercise at all.  Meanwhile, I kept eating.  What do you think happened?  Yep, I got fat.  No way to sugar coat it, I blew up like a balloon. I tried diets, got as much exercise as I was able; I even got to the point where I refused to eat more than 1000 calories a day.  No matter what, I could not lose weight.  Actually, I WAS able to lose a few pounds here and there, but it always came right back, and then some.

There is some good news.  I finally lost the weight.  The extra weight is gone and never coming back.  I’ll tell you more in a future article.

Thanks for reading,

Steve

  • An interesting read and although I like many have tried several of the latest diets I have not been able to stick with them for various reasons. My last attempt is scheduled for next month and researchng the latest diets I have heard some good things about the Fat Burning Furnace. Has anyone here tried it and is it any good?
