You see it everywhere: in magazines, on TV, and all over the Internet – everybody seems to have something to say about the quickest way to lose weight. Some say that it’s the right combination of pills and exercise. Some claim that this new contraption or that new gadget will melt away the fat. It seems that everybody is so caught up with finding a fast, easy method to lose weight, that common sense and discipline have been completely forgotten.
The way that our body loses or gains weight is based on nothing more than simple physics. Our bodies are but a simple machine. We take a fuel, we burn the fuel to create energy, and we store the excess fuel that we do not use. When you look at it that way, the process of losing weight becomes very simple:
- Consume less fuel
- Consume fuel that our body can use efficiently
- Increase the body’s metabolism so that it requires more fuel
In essence, the quickest way to lose weight is to burn more calories that you ingest. Sounds simple doesn’t it? If we are gaining weight is because either we are consuming too much fuel (over-eating), not consuming the right fuel, not burning off the calories that we do consume, or a combination of the three. In my experience, the most difficult concept for people to grasp is the second point: what kinds of fuel can our body use efficiently?
I cannot begin to count the number of times I have seen people eat nothing but fruit and still gain weight. They think that because fruit grows on trees, it must be good for them. In many ways they are correct, but they miss one very important fact: fruits are simple sugars. That means that from the time that you eat a fruit you have very little time to burn those calories off before they turn to fat. If you want to know what kinds of food you should be eating if you want to lose weight, here you go:
Eat whole grains and whole grain breads – Stay away from breads that contain enriched flour or bleached flour. Eat only whole grain breads. The same goes for Rice. Stay away from white rice. You should be eating only long grain wild rice, and natural brown rice is. Oates, wheat, and other natural grains take longer to digest so there is more time for your body to make use of them before they will turn to fat.
Stay away from starches - Yes, white bread and white rice are starches. Also included in that list are potatoes and pastas. You can find whole-grain pastas that are fine, but the regular spaghetti, rigatoni, angel hair, etc. are starches and will blow you up like a balloon.
Eat lean proteins – Fish (skinless), chicken breasts (boneless/skinless), lean pork, and even occasional beef (the leanest you can find) are all high in protein and low in fat. Your body loves protein. Protein breaks itself down into amino acids that get used by your muscles, internal organs, and your brain. If your body is busy burning up more fuel that you are ingesting, it will burn up every bit of excess body fat long before it tries to burn up your protein – and that’s what you want isn’t it?
If you’re looking for the best way to lose weight fast and safe, it just makes sense to look at what you’re eating. Work on that, and you will need a huge first step towards losing weight and keeping it off.

The Acia Berry contains 10 to 30 times more of the same beneficial nutrients as red wine (no you don’t have to stop drinking it as well!), blueberries and grapes….
See, this is just the kind of garbage I am talking about – another super expensive “wonder” supplement. Thanks, but I’ll keep doing what I’m doing: eating the rights foods and exercising. You should try it. Works wonders.
